It's Thursday again and you know what that means...
I'm going to tell you a story about something I'm thankful for. This one is a little bit funny but also dead serious.
Dann and I watched the finale of Breaking Bad at my parents' house with my little brother on Sunday night and it was ca-razy.
But that's not what this is about.
This is about silverfish.
See, one of the characters on the show referenced silverfish and I had to ask what they were.
Dann said: "They're not silver and they're not fish."
Turns out when he was living the dream working at the rap studio in LA, he used to deal with silverfish all the time. (We have theorized that, on occasion, the writers of Breaking Bad let their LA roots show a little. The house Jesse bought from his parents costing $875,000? In New Mexico? That living room's not very big...)
Anyway, Dann said silverfish used to come OUT of the drain in the place he lived.
Then he googled a picture of a silverfish and asked me if I wanted to see it.
He turned his phone around and, no joke, I reacted so violently that I think I pulled a hamstring.
Those suckers are gross with a capital G.
I'm linking a google image search here, but be warned. You will probably want to barf/smash your screen.
Two nights ago, I had a dream in which silverfish started appearing/disappearing/reappearing on the ground near my feet. I woke up at 3 am and never fell back to sleep. Woof.
All this to say that today, I'm thankful I live in a place where silverfish do not live, much less crawl out of drains. I'm thankful for a good night's sleep last night, and I'm thankful that my leg seems to be back to normal.
What about you?
