Hey there. Happy Monday.
Since I met Dann, I have learned a lot about the drums. I know what a kick pedal is and a snare and a ride and a paradiddle. I learned because I love him and I was interested in what he does.
Now that I work for the band(s) Dann is a part of, I'm learning all kinds of other words and phrases because I have to if I want to do the job well. It's been fun to learn the language of something new.
Last year, my work emails were all about school things: meetings and students and communications with parents. Now, my work emails pertain to promoting a new album, making hotel arrangements, confirming load-in and soundcheck times, plus making sure I know what GBOR means. (Gross Box Office Receipts. Got it.)
We leave tomorrow to start the tour with this guy, and I am thrilled to be going along with a job to do. I have no doubt it will be a great experience for me, if only because I get to be there with my husband as he chases his dream. I can't wait.
I'm planning on keeping up my posting here as regularly as possible, so look forward to some good road stories - and yes, for those who are wondering, farts in the van are a natural part of life on the road. Better out than in.
Wish me luck! Off we go!
