I snapped this photo at The Art Institute when we were in Chicago last month. It was one of the few Roy Lichtenstein pieces that wasn't supposed to be photographed and I did get scolded as soon as I took it. I didn't see the sign. Oops. I kind of love that the girl is in the shot, because she looks about the same age as the kids I used to teach. And nothing reminds me of the excitement of a new school year more than a new composition notebook, which is why I wanted the photo in the first place. I stopped by the school I worked at last year this morning and got to see some of my teacher friends, who are hard at work once again. Also, here are some of my favorite things from the Internet lately - just for you. Enjoy!
This one's for you, Kimbo. Can't wait to get on the road again.
"Love is not a whisper or a weakness." Okay, DMB. I will always love you.
Sad news reported to me first by my blogtern.
Oh my. Poetry mostly eludes me. But sometimes it gets me in my feelings.
I'm not here to get political, but this lady knows how to pick out a dress.
I can't decide if I think this is brilliant or cruel.
