That's A Roast!

My students have this silly habit of shouting out "That's a roast!" whenever someone says something that people from my generation might consider a "dis". It's kind of annoying, but also sometimes a little bit funny.

This weekend, Dann showed me what a real roast looks like - he's taken up roasting his own coffee beans! He's so cool.

Here are the beans before being roasted (they came from India):


This is how he does it - with a heat gun and a dog bowl:

This whole process took less than 10 minutes. Then he repeated it using a popcorn popper and it took less than 5 minutes.

This morning we woke up and each had a cup and changed our clocks and felt thankful for the weekends.
