I walked home from school today and it was delightful.
I explained to one of my students once (back when I was on corner duty and she visited me every morning) that I really worked out what my favorite weather was when I was in college. I realized during those years in Boulder that if I can walk a long distance outside in jeans and a sweater without getting too hot or too cold, then the weather is perfect.
That's how it was today.
And here's what I listened to (+ my favorite lyrics from each song):
Mad Mission - Patty Griffin
"Every single eye was gleaming when he reached the final scene..."
All My Days - Alexi Murdoch
"I have been quietly standing in the shade..."
Cristal - Yo-Yo Ma
(This one doesn't have lyrics, but it's beautiful. Seriously. Listen to it.)
Make No Protest - Lori Chaffer
"We'll stand in the sunrise and the sunsets and the moonlight to remind you..."
Little Fire - Patty Griffin featuring Emmylou Harris
"All that I want is one who knows me..."
Roll Over Me - The Autumn Film
"And it rang off the walls through the steeple halls..."
Bartender - Dave Matthews Band
"Bartender please, fill my glass for me with the wine you gave Jesus that set him free after three days in the ground..."
