Dear Sherman Alexie,
I’m writing to thank you for your novel, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian.
Thank you for your courage and willingness to tell this story the way you did. Your ability to continue doing what you do in the midst of opposition and people who ban books is incredibly admirable. Thank you.
As a person who taught groups of middle school students who were as racially diverse as they come, I really appreciated being able to put this book into the hands of perceptive non-white boys. They always loved it. They always found truth in it. And they always finished it. Thank you.
PS - Any chance this one will ever be made into a movie?
PPS - Thank you also for this new short short fiction, too!
