Lately, From The Library

Library March 2013.png

Happy March! Have you been sick lately? It seems like everyone I know has had a cold in the last month and I got it last weekend. Turns out not having the energy to go anywhere or do anything but sit on the couch is a really great way to make time for reading.

My book club was canceled last month because of snow, so I've had even more time than usual to get through my library books. I finished Michael Chabon's Telegraph Avenue last weekend and it was outstanding. I had to return it the same day I finished it, which is why it's not pictured here.

I'm currently reading Killing Yourself To Live by Chuck Klosterman and it's cracking me up. I aspire to write like he does one day. Or at the very least, to be able to conduct an interview the way he does. I think he's one of the best.

Two of the others in my current pile (How Will You Measure Your Life? and The Last Runaway) are from one of the 'Best of 2012' lists I came across - they finally became available three months after I placed holds on them. Ha!

I picked up Lorrie Moore's Self-Help because I love her and I've never read it, and I got Behind The Beautiful Forevers because D.L. Mayfield liked it and I trust her judgment even though we've never met.

There you have it. What are you reading these days?
