Folks, meet Roberta.
She has carried us all over the country these last few months, and today I am thankful for the comforts and services she provided.
Roberta and I had a bit of a rocky start, mostly because I felt unsure about whether or not I could trust her. Whenever it's windy, she gets a little shaky. Once I figured that out, though, I think we started making progress.
Since the end of September, she has carried us to 18 different states and more than 25 shows. She carried all the instruments and other sound gear, plus all of our bags. She gave us a place to take naps and power to charge our electronics while we traveled from one city to the next.
One of my favorite memories of this tour will always be the autumn day when I drove from Nashville to Lexington on the Bluegrass Parkway. It was breathtaking and Roberta handled it like a champ.
Today and tomorrow, she will carry three of our greatest friends across the country back home.
We said goodbye to her last night and I know it sounds crazy, but it was a little bit sad.
I'm always sad at the end of things.
Today I'm thankful for Roberta and all the ways she made it easy for us all to do our jobs.
What are you thankful for today?
